Two days itinerary in Singapore.

Hello Mello Guys,

We've made it, two days in Singapore spent well with a toddler. Me and my husband decided that Noah is going to experience his first oversea trip when he's officially 1 year old. AND WE CHOSE SINGAPORE for him! Why? because Singapore is just next dooooor! HAHA

Johor shares maritime borders with Singapore to the south, therefore, there's a ferry to Singapore from Desaru, Johor.

YASS! Seriously guys, a journey via ferry is SO MUCH BETTER, trouble-free especially with toddler. The immigration process was relaxed and convenient instead of taking the plane or by car. You know la how crazy it is nak masuk border Singapore tuu kan kalau by car!! Nope, thank you, not ready for that.

HOW TO GET TO SINGAPORE WITH LOW COST AND HASSLE-FREE

Well it's actually depends on where you are coming from. As for us, it is an advantage to have another option than taking a plane or driving. Thus, we took a ferry from at Tanjung Belungkor (20 minutes drive from Desaru) to Changi Ferry Terminal, Singapore. The journey via ferry was 45 minutes and then HELLLLO SINGAPORE.

Noah's first ferry experience.

As for the cost-wise, RM114 return ticket per person. Child below 2 years is free. SOO WORTH IT! Perjalanan yang selesa tapi thank god it was just 45 minutes, sebab Noah cepat bosan and dah start buat bising. Remember to bring, biscuits or toys for your child. (gadgets are not allowed for mine) hehe.

JEWEL CHANGI AIRPORT - DAY 1

Mind blowing! That was the first word that came acrossed my mind when I first stepped into Jewel Changi Airport, a.k.a our first stop. Frankly speaking, I have been to few airports in Philippines, London, Germany, Dubai, Thailand, etc, but this one, is worth coming for. From the Changi Ferry Terminal, we took a cab to Jewel which located at terminal 2 (not terminal 1), cost was around 12$ (RM36). We put our luggage at the bag storage counter, 10$ (RM30) -standard luggage for one day.

Baru la selesa nak explore dan bergambar dengan gembira! We had our lunch dekat Jewel food court je, ada masakan Indonesia and it's halal. Kalau ada budget lebih nak shopping dekat Jewel pun boleh tapi kene ingat la, price dia tiga kali ganda tau!

Rain Vortex, indoor waterfall.

WHERE TO STAY

After a few research done at home, we chose Hotel Boss at Kallang area for our two nights stay. The area was perfect for us because the hotel was a walking distance to Arab Street and Haji Lane. On top of that, we wanted to be as near as possible to the MRT station.

I would not recommend this hotel if you are bringing toddlers/babies because the room was too small, different from the picture in their website tho. Suitable for couple or individual only. Price around 134$ (RM400+) per night not included other charges, standard room.

Ok, now back on track of our story, we spent few hours at Changi Airport sampai puas and sakit kaki, then we took MRT from Changi Airport to Lavender station (interchange at Tanah Merah station) untuk sampai ke Hotel. We decided to buy unlimited tourist pass for 3 days, so pass ni mcm Touch & Go la, TAP je kalau nak naik MRT or Bas. 30$ for 3 days (get refund 10$ when you return the card), sangat berbaloi kalau plan nak berjalan menggunakan MRT or bas because cab is going to charge you more.

ARAB STREET

Lepas dah bertenang dalam hotel sekejap, refresh ourself, nap, then only we were ready for an evening sightseeing, and FOOD hunting of course! We were damn hungry weh because of the journey to the hotel with luggage, baby, stroller. GOSH. Can you imagine how sweaty we were once we reached the hotel? haha.

There are two explanations behind the name. The first one is that the area was owned by an Arab merchant, Syed Ali bin Mohamed Al Junied and that it was the site of an Arab kampong, hence the name Arab Street.

At Arab Street, you will find historic shops selling souvenir, textiles, perfumes and many more so if you are looking for memorial gifts to bring home ke apa ke, this is the right place to be at. Besides that, various of traditional Muslim food, Western and Turkish restaurants, coffee shops, and tempting desserts to try out. We had our lunch at Kampung Glam Cafe, it serves typical Malay food, just right for our tummy.

HAJI LANE

The so called urban street, the Haji Lane is in the Kampong Glam neighbourhood of Singapore, famous for its street arts and quirky vintage shops. You can also find some well-known Malaysia brand here.

Dekat sini pun actually banyak gila barang best-best kalau nak shopping, memang rambang mata habis! Husband I dah jeling dari jauh dah bila I was staring at all the handbags for more than 10 minutes. haha

one of my favorite local brand

I AM cafe was a dinner spot for our first night in Singapore. It is Halal and western food offerings, located at the end of Haji Lane street. We had a light dinner together with my old good friend, Eric, who is also living in Singapore for the past two years. As for me, the food was superb, I LOVE THE SEAFOOD PLATTER but my husband does not think the same way. Oh well, happy tummy, happy me. :D

DAY- 2

Well at first, according to our "planned" agenda, we wanted to get up at the crack of dawn for our Botanic Gardens adventure, BUT, our tiny human was tossing and turning the whole night, must be so tired of our Day-1 activities. Poor baby. We overslept and woke up at 1030am and it's pretty late to be at the Botanic Gardens, because I do not want Noah to be exposed much to the heat. Hence, we skipped Botanic Gardens and make used of our morning glory by having breakfast at mamak nearby the hotel.

LITTLE INDIA

We continued our journey of the day by walking around Little India. It is exactly like the one in Brickfield, but if you never experience any, might as well, just go through the neighborhood because it gives you a different feeling when you mix with a different culture and it will inspire you in so many ways.

MARINA BAY

We headed down to Marina Bay from Little India via MRT. Our first port of call was The Shoppes, home to hundreds of international brands, premium restaurants and cafes and bars. Well, if you are not going to spend your dollars here (like us) this vast mall is still a worth place to visit. Pleasing on the eye with the amazing architecture, featuring glass windows and vast open open atriums and central water feature.

From here, all the tourist spots was just nearby, banyak pakai tenaga sikit la sebab perlu berjalan jauh babe! and sangat memenatkan. Pemandangan dekat area The Art Science Museum memang superb lah! rugi kalau tak tangkap gambar dekat situ.

one of my fav photo, thanks to my husband

How to get the best picture, you need - a passionate husband and a tired son.

THE MERLION OF SINGAPORE

"No picture, no proof" - so here is the typical photo of me and Noah with Mr Lion. If you are not taking a picture with one of the most iconic statues in the world, then something is not right with you. :p

GARDEN BY THE BAY

Last but not least, must not miss, Garden by the Bay. This isn't your typical garden, more like avatar's home. We spent our long evening dekat situ, had our dinner at Satay by the Bay, but not having any satay (just the name btw), seafood for dinner was indeed a great choice.

Garden by the Bay is a home to 18 these massive, tree shaped vertical gardens known as Supertree Grove. It was not just huge, but the trees were beautifully lit up at night. MUST-SEE!

Supertree Grove

In the vicinity of that area, there were plenty of remarkable things to see and try. We even explored the so called NEON JUNGLE, and stay dekat situ sampai the light show ended.

It was a super tiring trip for the three of us, but the experience was as expensive as Singapore Dollar! We can't wait to plan for the next one! where could it be...........

Till we meet again Singapore :)

THE END
